All about Cherie:
I've been creating art from childhood...everyone has colored with crayons! My first art project was a cloth 'duster' crayon drawing on cotton material that I made in a class at church. We created these dusters as gifts for mom!
As kids we found ourselves playing outside in the dirt making roads, building our own little communities out of sticks, wood, rocks and whatever else we could find. It was especially fun to create little towns at a nearby stream or mud puddle, bulding dams, rivers and just spending all day playing outside.
One of my most favorite memories is creating paper 'cut-out' dolls. I also enjoyed making my own game boards, and for some strange reason, I really liked making home floor plans. An aspiring architect!
Crafts were easily the next artistic place to go, sewing my favorite projects such as purses, stuffed animals, clothing and then I moved on to macrame, paper mache, collage...anything to keep these hands busy! I dabbled in stained glass, clay, caligraphy, poster art, beading necklaces and making earrings.
Then I became interested in creating wood projects so on came the wood cutters, scroll saws, jig saws, pneumatic stapler, nails and all the rest of the materials needed to make birdhouses and decorative yard signs.
Now with the computer age and graphic tablet I've discovered a new territory of art and I am amazed at how it's opened a whole new world for me! From fantasy to cartoons, clip art to posters, it is truly fantastic to have the ability and availability to produce art in a new form called 'DIGITAL ART' and have it immediately available on clothing, mousepads, coffee mugs, shoes, jewelry boxes and so much more!
I've discovered POD (Print On Demand) sites and it has virtually changed my life. There are endless possibilities in creating artwork and decorating the world with digital art now. It's been this graphic artist's dream come true and I want to learn everything I can about the art programs I use and the new and upcoming digital art programs out there such as the 3-D programs. I will continue to create art from the heart and share it with others.
Thank you for taking time to read about me and I do hope you'll contact me if you have any questions or requests.
